Dr Iain Pryde is a consultant psychiatrist specialising in mental health, bringing over 25 years of experience to his practice. With more than 15 years serving as a consultant psychiatrist, Dr Pryde has demonstrated leadership and expertise in a variety of clinical settings.
During his tenure within the NHS, Dr Pryde led an Assertive Outreach Service in London’s East End, focusing on engaging individuals grappling with severe psychosis, homelessness, substance use disorders, and involvement with the criminal justice system. Additionally, he played pivotal roles within Community Mental Health Teams, further solidifying his comprehensive understanding of mental health care delivery.
Dr Pryde’s proficiency spans across inpatient, outpatient, and community-based multidisciplinary mental health care, catering to diverse cultural backgrounds. His extensive knowledge encompasses various mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, OCD, and autism spectrum.
As a registered and licensed medical practitioner with the General Medical Council, Dr Pryde holds a place on the specialist register for Old Age and General Psychiatry, with sub-specialist accreditation in Rehabilitation. He earned his medical qualifications with Honours from the University of Edinburgh, where he also received the class prize in psychiatry. Dr Pryde furthered his academic pursuits by obtaining a Master’s degree in Philosophy of Mental Disorder from King’s College London.
Complementing his clinical acumen, Dr Pryde possesses a Clinical Certificate in Psychopharmacology from the British Psychopharmacology Association and is well-versed in Quality Improvement methodology for healthcare.
