We’re delighted to share that Lyphe Clinic has been recognised with a GreenShield Award from Global Cannabinoid Solutions (GCS) for clinical excellence and our contribution to advancing medical cannabis literacy across the UK sector.

At its heart, this recognition reflects a simple commitment: patients should be able to expect clear, consistent, evidence-informed conversations throughout their care, especially in a field where the evidence base is still developing.

What this means for patients

For patients, this matters because it supports clearer explanations, more consistent decision-making, and better continuity across the care journey.

Medical cannabis can raise complex questions. Patients deserve clinicians who can explain what’s known, what’s still uncertain, and what safe, individualised care looks like in practice. This is what we aim to deliver across the clinic:

  • Evidence-informed care: grounded in current cannabinoid science and ongoing learning.
  • Consistency: a shared clinical language and approach throughout the patient journey.
  • Safety: supported by continuing professional development (CPD) and regular review.

Strengthening cannabis literacy across Lyphe

We’ve worked with GCS to build a structured, clinic-wide cannabis literacy framework as a long-term shift in how we embed knowledge, confidence, and consistency across the organisation.

GCS describes this work as one of the most significant internal education programmes in the UK medical cannabis field, and a cultural shift. In practice, that means we’ve focused on creating an education ecosystem that supports clinicians and patient teams over time.

The clinician-tailored cannabis curriculum was co-created to reflect the needs of our team and the conditions most relevant to our patients, and includes:

  • Regular lectures on emerging cannabinoid science and condition-specific topics
  • A structured CPD framework to support ongoing development
  • Training that supports both onboarding and long-term clinical literacy
  • Adaptable modules that evolve as evidence and best practice develop

Recognised for leadership beyond our clinic

GCS also highlighted our involvement in wider conversations about strengthening the UK medical cannabis sector — including uneven clinician knowledge, variable patient experiences, and the need for a shared scientific language across multidisciplinary teams.

“Lyphe Clinic’s willingness to engage with these wider sector issues demonstrates true leadership. Rather than focusing solely on internal operations, they have chosen to participate in shaping solutions that support the entire clinical community.” — Global Cannabinoid Solutions

We agree with the principle behind that: improving standards means looking beyond our clinic. The clearer and more consistent the sector becomes, the better supported patients are — wherever they seek care.

We also appreciated their acknowledgement of how our clinicians show up with curiosity, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Looking ahead

The GreenShield Award recognises an education-first approach — and reinforces what patients should always be able to expect: thoughtful assessment, careful prescribing decisions, and standards that keep improving.

We’re grateful to GCS for recognising this work.

Thank you to our team for their dedication, to our patients for your trust, and to our colleagues across the industry who keep pushing standards forward.
