Important Guidance Before You Travel

  • Always check with the embassy/consulate of each country you’re visiting (and any transit countries) regarding their laws on cannabis.
  • Confirm with your airline whether they accept traveling patients carrying controlled medication.
  • We recommend travelling with only the amount of medicine you need for your trip to avoid questions or regulatory issues.

Although we provide the letter to support your travel, Lyphe Clinic takes no responsibility for any medicines being confiscated or legal issues in other countries.

  • We will email your travel letter and upload it to your Patient Portal.
  • You will need to fill in details in our request form such as your patient ID, travel dates, destination country, and existing prescription information.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why might my travel letter be delayed?

Delays can happen if we need further clinical review, if travel documentation is incomplete or unclear, or if our clinicians require additional verification. Please submit your request as early as possible.

Does this letter guarantee legal access to cannabis abroad?

No. The travel letter supports your case, but acceptance depends entirely on the laws of the country and airline policies. Always verify with embassies and airlines in advance.

What happens if I need a new letter midway through my trip?

If your travel dates change while abroad, contact us as soon as possible. We’ll assess whether we can issue an updated letter depending on timing, changes in prescription, or required adjustments, however, this is not something we recommend and we cannot guarantee anything in this scenario.

Will the letter show my dosage and strain details?

Yes, the letter includes your prescribed cannabis prescription details (when safe and appropriate). In rare cases, some sensitive information may be redacted to protect your privacy.
